New farm gets drainage.

The new farm we purchased three weeks ago. A 342 acre heavy clay farm which connects to the 100 acre farm we bought last year. The purchase of land was down to the Australians and new zealanders convinced me the future was land ownership. Thanks to Natwest a dream has become true. John Pearce from cambridge drainage is piping our ditches and putting in a whole drainage scheme. This farm from harvest will be in a controlled traffic farming scheme. The farm is in a lovely block of 442 acres. Rick will be busy over the next two months taking a track out and cleaning ditches. The rain has slowed work up but thankfully the crops will be pleased with the drink.

  1. So James, with all the ditch digging and draining are you responsible for this prolonged wet period (needed but we've had enough now thanks) or do you have a crystal ball?

  2. It's going to rain for 40 days and nights. I want some light land which doesn't need drainage.
