Rave season

70 young students from Comberton village college found having an illegal rave on our spring barley.
The police presence and action was fantastic. They stopped the party and took away the alcohol. Sammy was able to continue spraying the field.

Irrigation starts on the fenland.

Started irrigating at 72 metres with a boom on sugar beet to aid germination and establishment. This is a first for me as irrigating is unheard of on heavy land. Freddie is the champion at Irrigating putting 20 mm on a 500 metre pull. Lovely on a sunny day.

Spring drilling is completed

Well done chaps. The spring barley is drilled and rolled the sugar beet is in and the mustard and peas and spring beans all drilled and mostly up.
Spraying and fertilising to complete this week for the team to have a much deserved break for Easter.

Demo a Raven

Had a Demo for a Knight Raven cultivator today. None Ctf version. Only a baby version but went well.
2.8 mt version. Three subsoiler legs, sweep tines and discs with a packer.
Worked well cultivating in ditch spoil. They do a 3 mt and 6 metre for CTF.

CTF sugar beet

420 acres of Controlled traffic sugar beet.
We have topdowned, subsoiled at 5.95 metres. Left over winter and spring cultivated with the 11.9 metre Dalbo. Ed Banks has come in and drilled on RTK at 5.95 metres, 12 rows at 49.5 cm spacings. We aim to harvest with the a 6 row at 2.97 metres, trailers to work at 2.97 metres on the previous pass.
Inter row shielded spacing to control the weeds is planned.
